Man arrested in connection to Opelika man shot to death | News

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM)- Authorities in Opelika are investigating the shooting death of man.

Police were called to the 400 Block of Toomer Court at just after 5 p.m. on Thursday, where they found 53-year-old Leon Grady suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to East Alabama Medical Center where he later died.

Police say they have a suspect and they believed Grady was shot during an argument.

Investigators of the Opelika Police Department arrested 55-year-old Timothy Williams of Opelika after he turned himself in. Williams is being charged with murder and was later taken to the Lee County Detention Center.
