Shots fired into Opelika home
Opelika police are searching for a suspect who fired shots into an Opelika home early Friday morning.
At about 4 a.m. EST, the victim reported waking up and walking into the hallway in his Fruitland Avenue home when he heard several gunshots outside.
He ran outside and saw someone running away, firing several more shots back towards him.
The victim then began firing at the suspect with his own gun.
The suspect jumped into the passenger side of a gold Chevrolet 1500 extended cab pickup and sped away.
The case remains under investigation.
