Daewon America invests more money and jobs in Opelika

OPELIKA, AL - Daewon America is continuing to invest in Opelika, bringing in more funding and more jobs to the area.

Mayor Gary Fuller announced at a council meeting Tuesday night that the company will be investing an additional $16 million in capital for new manufacturing equipment and hiring 30 new associates.

AUBURN, AL - Governor Robert Bentley and automotive supplier RAPA (Rausch & Pausch LP) announced the company’s plans to locate a U.S. headquarters and production facility in Auburn.

Company officials anticipate creating 105 new jobs in Auburn over the next five years with $18 million in planned capital investment.  Construction of the facility in Auburn Technology Park West is already underway, with production scheduled to start in fall of 2013.

OPELIKA, AL - At the Opelika City Council meeting last night, Mayor Gary Fuller announced that Daewon America would be adding another $13 million in capital for equipment and hiring 32 new associates.

Mayor Fuller expressed his gratitude to Daewon America for their continued growth in Opelika, “We are so pleased that Daewon is adding to their investment and bringing more employment opportunities to our citizens. When we were in South Korea last year, Councilman Joey Motley, Economic Development Director Lori Huguley and I spoke with Vice-Chairman Hur about continued investment and are pleased that Daewon’s business continues to thrive in Opelika and necessitates this additional growth.”

Department of Labor hosting Job Expo in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA - The Georgia Department of Labor’s Columbus Career Center and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will co-sponsor a job expo for employers, veterans, wounded soldiers, personnel recently separated from active duty, and other job seekers. It will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 28-29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at VFW Post 665, located at 1824 Victory Dr. in Columbus.
