Joyriding teens chased down by auto shop employees | Crime
OPELIKA, AL - A couple of teens went joyriding in a stolen car left at an auto repair shop Tuesday when they were chased down by employees.
Opelika Police say R&N Auto Repair on Frederick Rd. had a 1997 burgundy and gold GMC van stolen Monday night.
Employees saw the van drive by the shop around 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12. That's when they got into their vehicles and followed the stolen van to the area of Dogwood Ave.
The van came to a stop and two juvenile black males jumped out and ran away.
The police were notified, the van was recovered, but the juveniles were not found.
The case is under investigation.
