Midday car break-ins sweep Opelika | Crime
OPELIKA, AL - A series of car break-ins swept through Opelika Thursday afternoon, all taking place within a few miles of each other.
One of the break-ins happened at the Cracker Barrel on Fox Run Ave. between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. The victim reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her luggage containing clothing, make up and personal items.
Another break-in happened about a mile away at Angel's Antiques on Columbus Parkway between 12:45 p.m. and 1 p.m. The victim told police that someone forcibly entered her car and stole a large tote bag and purse, which included several credit and debit cards, her checkbook, a Dell laptop and other personal items.
The next reported break-in happened on the 400 block of Geneva St. between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. The victim left their car unlocked and someone stole an Ann Taylor sweater and necklace.
The last vehicle break-in happened in the parking lot of Walmart on Pepperell Parkway between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The victim reported someone entered his vehicle and stole a MacBook laptop computer, a Nikon Cybershot digital camera, miscellaneous computer cables and adapters, and a Swiss Army book bag.
There are no suspects.
