Thief steals rims and tires from victim's carport | Crime

OPELIKA, AL - An Opelika resident is having car trouble after a thief stole their tires and rims.

Police say the theft happened on Clearmont St. around 9 a.m. on Jan. 3.

The victim reported someone stole four 2005 Mustang GT rims with tires. The rims were three spoke polished aluminum.

They also reported four ICW brand chrome rims stolen as well.

The value of the stolen items is about $2,000.

A witness told police that a black male, approximately 6' tall and 180 lbs, wearing jeans and a black Letterman's style jacket with red sleeves stole the items from the victim's carport and a small trailer under the carport. 

They also saw the suspect load the rims into a four door 2000's model burgundy car and leave the scene. 

The case is under investigation.
