Suspect uses forged travelers check at Opelika Target | Crime

OPELIKA, AL - Someone tried to finish their Christmas shopping at Target with a forged travelers check over the weekend.

Police say someone went to a cashier to pay for their items with a $100 American Express Travelers Cheque on Dec. 22 around 4:45 p.m. 

The cashier notified a supervisor to approve the use of the check and they noticed it was a fraud.

When they came back to the register they found the suspect had left the store.

The check was turned over to police and the case is under investigation.
