Police say woman punches security while shoplifting | Crime
OPELIKA, AL - Police say two women were caught stealing from Target and one suspect got violent.
The two were seen putting several articles of clothing in their purses by security at the Enterprise Dr. store on Oct. 17 around 4:30 p.m.
They then tried to leave the store with the clothes.
Security personnel approached one of the suspects to detain her when she swung and punched the employee in the face. The suspect then ran from the store.
She was later found by police and identified as Britney Alexandria Knight, age 21 from Montgomery.
The second suspect was detained at the store. She was identified as Tiffany Tamekia Sledge, age 23 from Montgomery.
The security officer sustained minor bruising from the hit to the face, but they didn't need any medical treatment.
Knight and Sledge were arrested and charged with third degree robbery.
They were later transported to the Lee County Detention Center.
