AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Check out this time lapse video of students from Auburn University's Student Government Association repainting the Toomer's Corner tiger paw. 

The students gathered to repaint the paw Monday night, while police blocked the intersection and directed traffic.

Painting the tiger paw is becoming a fall tradition for students at Auburn.

The Opelika Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of developing  future leaders.  With that in mind, the Chamber has implemented a Lee County Young Leaders program, similar to the Leadership Lee County program.

Get Earthquake ready Alabama! Alabamians encouraged to participate in Great Central U.S. ShakeOut

 At 10:15 a.m. on Feb. 7, 2012, millions of people in the Central United States will seek shelter under their desks, kitchen tables and other sturdy objects as part of the second annual “Great Central U.S. ShakeOut” earthquake drill.  The Alabama Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) encourages Alabama residents and organizations to join the nearly one million people who have already registered to participate. Last year, more than 50,000 Alabamians registered.

OPELIKA, AL - On Saturday, December 31 Keep Opelika Beautiful and Opelika Tree Commission will host a Christmas Tree Recycling Event. 

Order a turkey or ham from the Auburn Civitan Club

AUBURN, AL - The Auburn Civitan Club is selling smoked turkeys and hams for Christmas.

The cost for a turkey (12-14 lb.) or ham (8-10 lb.) is $35.00 each (five or more are $30). Orders may be picked up on Sunday, December 18, from 1-4 p.m. in the Barbeque House parking lot. 

Auburn Christmas Parade Dec. 10

AUBURN, AL - The Auburn Christmas Parade will be held on Dec. 10 at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Auburn.

Coach Karen Hoppa, head coach of the Auburn women’s soccer team, will serve as the grand marshal of the parade. Aubie and Santa will also be part of the festivities, as well as over 70 floats, organizations, businesses and individuals.
